November Traffic Report 2017
Merry Christmas! Happy Hanukkah! Greetings of the season to all!
Regardless of how you celebrate the holidays, it’s the perfect time of year to reflect on our many blessings. In our case, we appreciate your friendship, as well as the trust you put in us to be our client. We hope the New Year finds you happy and healthy. God bless!
With all the excitement of the holidays, the fourth quarter of the year often is a slower time for the boating business. This year, however, fourth quarter has turned out to be very busy for us.
We closed 8 boats in November and now have several under contract this month with many prospective buyers looking for boats.
We also are pleased with the steady stream of new listings. Calls and showings continue to follow whenever our new listings come on the market. If a boat is in good shape and priced right, she’ll draw offers as two did last week.
But if either of those two critical variables is not right, she will languish on the market. Price and condition: how do you rate them for your boat?
Boats Group, LLC, is the new owner of the two major on-line listing services, Yachtworld and Boat Trader.
Manatee Pocket Yacht Sales was selected as one of sixteen yacht brokerages to participate in the first ever Boats Group Advisory Council. The Council convenedin Miami and the opportunity to meet with fellow brokerage owners and managers was informative and insightful.
Sitting in a room of both larger and smaller businesses I realize just how much energy brokerage firms expend to help clients buy and sell boats. In many ways, the sales activities in this business remind me of the time when I worked with clients like Marriott and Disney representing HP computers.
In each case, it is an intricate business with many moving parts.
The Council meeting demonstrates the renewed focus Boats Group is bringing to our industry, in general, and especially to its multiple listing service solutions. We are encouraged that you and those shopping for boats eventually will find it cleaner, faster and easier to use YachtWorld. At the same time, Boats Groups is working hard on the “back end” to make the software that brokers use cleaner, faster and easier, too. This will pay dividends to all of us—buyers, sellers and brokers—in speeding all boats to the market.
It is my pleasure to serve on this board for the next year. If you have input you want me to share with the industry leader, Boats Group, please let me know. Meantime…
Enjoy your holiday.
Then let’s get ready for the 2018 Stuart Boat Show!
Best to you,
Licensed Florida Yacht Broker
