March 2020 Traffic Report Message from Tom Whittington

Our February Traffic Report message forecasted the following:

“This first quarter will be our best in the history of our company.”
And it was!
We sold 14 vessels in March and the first quarter of 2020 resulted in 25 boat sales.
As I write our March Traffic Report, with Bloomberg on in the background, I am reminded we are all in uncharted waters.
Our team remains optimistic. We will ride out this storm!
My sincere belief is that confidence will return. It may very well be a new normal but it may be a friendlier one.
We want to assure you that the health and well-being of our community, customers and team is foremost on our minds. Like you, we are closely monitoring the developing effects of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
MPYS offices are closed to outside visitors.
Both of our marina locations stopped launching boats last week.
We are discontinuing showings and of course sea trials.
But our team, however, is still active in the listing and selling process. Much of our efforts have always been online and by phone.
Up until Friday people were still boating and wanting to find their dream boat. Their dreams will not stop. We are still receiving calls and emails.
Yes, offers may be low with buyers wanting to take advantage of the situation but that is not new behavior. We know how to manage their expectations.
Our phone lines are being managed by our brokers on duty.
Your broker and I are standing by for your call. We are here to provide the continued excellent service our clients and prospects expect and deserve.
We’re open 24/7 through our website where our service remains uninterrupted.
We invite you to find us on Facebook.
Ride this out with us as we prepare for a big bounce back!
Thank you all for your valued trust.
Please stay safe!
God Bless.
