Overview

1981 Cape Dory 28
We are very pleased to add this beauty to our fleet of sailing vessels. She has been completely restored with numerous upgrades over the last few years. For a 28 foot boat, she has a lot of room and the woodwork is in great condition. There is a complete set of sails as well as a set of storm sails that have never been used. In 2014, she was repowered with a Westerbeke 20b two and has only 560 hours on the engine. A full list of upgrades is presented, but here are a few of note:
  • 2014 Westerbeke Engine
  • New Bottom Job (December 2018)
  • Mainsail, Jib, and Genoa
  • New Blue Seas Fuse Panel
  • New Garmin GPS/Chartplotter 741XS
  • New Bilge Blower
  • New Groco Toilet
  • New Strato-Glass for the Dodger
  • New Rocna 15 Galvanized Anchor,120 feet of 5/16 Chain and 120 Feet of Rhode
  • New 18  watt Solar Panel and Charger

The boat was a Great Lakes boat up until last year when she decided a vacation in the Bahamas was necessary! Come take a look at her. You will be pleasantly surprised.

Broker's Comments
1981 Cape Dory 28
I was very surprised by the condition of this boat when I first went to look at her. She is in great shape and the interior woodworking is fabulous. The boat was beautifully restored! She has lived in the Great Lakes up until last year when she came to Florida and headed to the Bahamas. The owner has taken very good care of her and it shows. Recent upgrades are numerous and listed elsewhere in the listing. There is a well appointed galley and salon. The marine head is new and the bath layout is great for a boat of this size. There is a full set of sails as well as a set of storm sails that have never been used. The Cockpit is spacious and there is quite a bit of storage under the lazarettes. Come take a look at this boat and you will be pleasantly surprised!
