It's a wonder more people haven't discovered the versatility of the walkaround. They are great for fishing, but they aren't just for fishermen. You can overnight aboard them and ski behind them, and sized right, they are easily trailerable. Cobia's 220 Walkaround does all that for about the same weight - 3,405 pounds - as standard runabouts.
Cobia borrows on its experience building great offshore boats and crams it into the 23 feet, 10 inches of its 220, with extra-deep gunwales for family safety and better fish-fighting stability. The high bow rail also adds security forward of the thoughtfully planned cockpit. A stainless-steel steering wheel, two swivel seats, a starboard footwell and a port foot rest make it easy to spend a couple of hours cruising. The 220's full instrumentation and cockpit lights make dusk cruises easier, and the wraparound windshield protects passengers from the wind. Or, open the flip-out vents to let the breezes flow. The 220's cabin also is long on amenities such as a molded-in sink with 7 gallons of fresh water on tap. The cabin door locks for security or privacy, and a dinette table and a chemical toilet make it easy to overnight on board.
The Yamaha 225 has just been serviced and only has 484 hours on her.
