Chip Cramer did a fantastic job helping us sell our Family's Sailboat. It was a unique situation and I had not considered using a broker. He did a great job putting us at ease that he could handle the sale and did exactly that. In fact the sale happened much more quickly than I could have imagined almost catching us off guard. The process was smooth and easy specially considering we were out of state. His office handled everything for us. Thanks for making a major decision so easy for us.
Chip Cramer defines service, honesty and integrity. My wife and I are nearing retirement. About two years ago we began a search for a structurally sound cruising sailboat capable of blue water passages that we could refit/refurbish to our own specifications. We had researched, and decided to try to find an older Pearson 36 or 39. We found what we needed and are in the process of preparing that sailboat for a journey through the Panama Canal then up to Seattle, then on to Haines, Alaska. The main point here is Chip's part in helping us know and get what we needed, and to not make costly mistakes. The sale was essentially closed for us once the seller accepted our offer. But, Chip has continued to help us with details for ownership transfer, and preparations for moving to our home port of Pensacola, and for many other details that are certainly beyond the scope for the listing agent in a normal sale arrangement, especially considering the relatively modest cost of our sailboat.
I had an abnormal situation that Chip Cramer and the crew at Manatee Pocket helped me with beyond my expectations. Based in Australia I'd found a privately listed boat online in the US that I wanted to look at but the owner couldn't wait the few months I needed to get to the states, and the price was dropping. Through some online searching I contacted Manatee Pocket yacht Sales (mostly because unlike many other Florida brokerages I found, none of their sales people were wearing suits - who goes sailing in a suit?) who got back to me within a few hours. After a brief chat with Chip detailing what I wanted from them, he was chasing the owner for me to organise a viewing. Before I knew it Chip was walking me through the yacht live via FaceTime on opposite sides of the globe. We opened hatches, shovelled through cupboards and checked every inch of the hull and decks as well as generally chatted boating - it was as good as being there. Following this Chip recommended local surveyors for me to pursue the vessel further that led to me purchasing her privately. When I nervously arrived in the states a couple of months later to finally see what I had purchased (a remote private sale - something I said I'd never do!) I found the boat to be exactly as I'd electronically walked through and discussed with Chip the months before. I absolutely and without hesitation recommend Chip Cramer and Manatee Pocket Yacht Sales for any yacht / boat services they offer. My experience with them was nothing short of professional, efficient and accommodating but yet down to earth, honest and enjoyable at the same time.
We have sold two of our "last boat" and purchased two of our "last boat" with the assistance of Capt. Lee Bowden of Manatee Pocket Yacht Sales. All the transactions were completed in a professional manner, in a timely fashion and an enjoyable setting. We would recommend Capt. Bowden and Manatee Pocket Yacht Sales to be your yacht broker of choice when considering the purchase or sale of your "last boat" as we did on numerous occasions.
I was looking for a “pocket cruiser”, that is a small, ocean capable sailboat and I met Chip Cramer in response to an internet query I had made. Chip met me at the Indiantown marina to show me a couple of possibilities and I was surprised at how attentive he was to my requirements. Typically yacht brokers do not like to deal with older and less expensive boats, since the commissions are small and the vessels are more likely to have age related problems.
Chip was knowledgeable and enthusiastic and we looked at several vessels in the area before settling upon a Cape Dory 28. I returned for the sea-trial and again, Chip met me at the boat where he changed the Racor filter and replaced the starter battery so that we could start the engine.
Again I was impressed with Chip’s perseverance, determination and enthusiasm in resolving mechanical issues that could have delayed or halted the sales process. Chip was a delight to work with and I heartily recommend his services to anyone looking to begin a sailing adventure.
Chip Cramer just sold our boat in the easiest, most positive, and efficient way.He is professional, knowledgeable, and very helpful. We just cannot rave enough about him!!!Thanks for making the departure of our beloved boat so easy!!!
Just want to take a moment to express my sincere thanks and appreciation for the tremendous job done by Lee Bowden. He was extremely professional and so helpful in all aspects of the purchase. I am an out of state buyer and he made everything simple and painless. He went way out of his way to make the sale happen and was extremely helpful in lining up all the loose ends that I need to get the boat ship shape and ready to ship. Thanks again Lee, it has been a real pleasure.
Dear Captain Bowden:
As I may have told you, I have bought 10 or 12 boats over the past 50 years, having acquired them from a variety of sellers including boat brokers, retail boat dealers, and private individuals. Dealing with you as the seller/broker, certainly ranks as one of my most pleasurable boat buying experiences. As a buyer, I can't remember ever dealing with anyone who had more product knowledge, or in the absence of same, was willing to get the answers to my questions in a timely manner.
In short, your helpful, positive attitude made the entire buying process, including the price negotiation, a pleasant experience. You were forthright and up front throughout, and did exactly what you said you would do, when you said you would do it, without any BS excuses. From a buyer's perspective, that was very much appreciated. You stand as a positive role model for the sales qualities that a successful boat broker should strive to emulate. I believe you are an asset to Manatee Pocket Yacht Sales and wouldn't hesitate referring potential boat buyers to you and your firm.
Thank you again for your services.
